lyrics

DRINK MY THIRSTY DEVILS

Drag a boulder uphill with a
Rope that's tied to my heels
Counting all the wolves along the way
Tired eyes, desert dry
Cracked hands clutch at sky
Gotta make it up before the rain

Though your fist can't mend or soothe
Smash it against my wound
Take my poison every night
And drift away

Slim hand with jagged knife
Thin slice of hollow life
And every drop was savored by the blade
The bellows ache inside my chest
With venom I cannot resist
And haunted visions of a missing face
The shadow's grip, the phantom strong
I drink my thirsty devils gone
Just can't ever put em in the grave

Though your fist can't mend or soothe
Smash it against my wound
Take my poison every night
And drift away

about

Brother Ox Shady Grove, Pennsylvania

Brother Ox was a band with an idea behind it. Labor, societal pressure, anguish of the common man: listen to the first album, you hear these themes. This was a good thing.

But it was also an excuse to hide.

Volume 2 is full of characters you know in your personal experience, and some you haven't met yet. It's the same for us. Is it rock or something worse? Are we traitors? To what cause? None.
